It's been awhile...

I didn't realize that I haven't posted for almost 2 months.  I've been busy with a few things and I had a couple of events that made my life a lot sadder.

I lost my two fur babies in 2011.  I couldn't talk about it because I was really devastated.  We had our fur babies for 19 years!  They were truly part of the family.  I still find it hard to look at photos of them...I end up crying.  So I will keep this brief.   Scotty was 19 years old when he passed.  He passed away in July 2011 on his favourite chair in the living room.  We spent the last minutes with him.  Missy was 20 years old when we put her down in November 2011.  She was down to skin and bones and weighed 2.5 pounds.  She was just hanging on.  We didn't want her to suffer any longer.  We miss them dearly and not a day goes by when we don't think of them.  The house was very quiet when they left us.  It was just the Mister and I.  Something was missing.  We were very sad.

12 by 2012

I am a procrastinator and I love a to do list.  I started a 101 in 1001  list and I'm slowly crossing items off. So this evening when I was reading Danni's blog over at oh, hello friend, she came up with the brilliant idea of putting a list of things or goals  that you want to get done by December 31st.  Sounds simple right?  So I thought...why not?  It won't hurt!  So here is my attempt at 12 by 2012....

1.  Renovate my small walk in closet

2.  Make more goodies for my website  MadebyGinna

3.  Make more home cooked meals for the Mister & myself

4.  Start baking again

5.  Clean up the computer room

6.  Clean up my craft room again!

7.  Enjoy myself at the Crafty Affaire Holiday Market launch on December 4th

8.  Give out handmade Christmas presents to family and friends

9.  Blog more often

10.  Be nicer to people

11.  Go on a little get away with the Mister

12.  Laugh more often

So that's my list!  I will update whenever I hit the goal (fingers crosssed!)  Good luck to everyone participating!!!

Butterflies

Our family room off the kitchen needed some re-decorating.  When we purchased the house back in 2008, we repainted the walls and used our old furniture from our Calgary house.   The Mister did not like the way it looked but I was fine with it.  He wanted a wall unit to house some art work and books.  He wanted the TV to be hung on the wall.  I was fine with the TV sitting on the media stand we bought a few years back.  But he wasn't.  He sketched different configurations of the wall unit and finally came up with the one below.

The wall above the TV was bare for a long time until I saw the butterflies on Hip and Clavicle's Etsy Shop.  They are three dimensional and are made of paper.  I love them.  They come in so many colours but I chose black because it went with our decor.

This is our old TV stand.  This was centered against the wall and there were book cases next to it.

Been Busy

Sorry I've been AWOL for the last few months.  
I have been busy with work and I guess life. 
I got a promotion at work. 
I lost one of my fur babies in July and I still cannot bring myself to write about it.  
I've been working hard at putting together Crafty Affaire's Holiday Market.  
I have been decorating and gardening. 
 I have been crafting and reorganizing my craft room (this took longer than I thought and is still a work in progress.  
I also have been lazy on some days.

Hope you're keeping yourself busy too!!!

Today is my hubby's birthday.  I won't reveal his age but he is a few years older than me.  He loves his birthday cakes as you can see from these pictures.

I was visiting one of my favourite blogs, oh, hello friend and she was having a virtual birthday party on her blog.  Danni just turned 26.  Oh how I wish I was that age again.  She is a lot wiser than I was!  I loved all the photos she posted and I love her words of wisdom.

You know...my parents have been telling me this all along...I guess I should start listening to my parents!

Vancouver Riot Lovers

After the Vancouver Canucks lost the Stanley Cup last Wednesday, riots erupted in downtown Vancouver.  Cars were set on fires, windows were broken, stores were looted but amongst all the chaos love managed to show it self.  Make love and not war!

Life

There comes a time in your life when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it, you surround yourself with people who make you laugh, forget the bad and focus on the good.  Just love the people who treat you right, life is too short to be anything but happy.  Falling down is part of life - getting up is living. SO LIVE BABY LIVE!!!!!
